Aspen Lakehouse

Would you like to get away to the mountains? Aspen Lakehouse is a stunning custom built Colorado home at 9,100’ elevation on 80 peaceful acres. Surrounded by aspen trees overlooking beautiful Skaguay Reservoir, it is located 12 miles from Cripple Creek and approximately one hour and 15 minutes from northwestern Colorado Springs.

Built in 2002, the house has recently been updated with custom features. There are 5 bedrooms (including 2 master bedrooms and 3 bathrooms), a large gourmet kitchen, an oversized laundry room with washer and dryer, and a spacious living room with a fireplace for family gatherings, complete with a flat screen TV with a blue ray  DVD player and surround sound speakers. There are many windows throughout the house and an eight to ten foot wide wrap-around porch that provides total privacy, tranquility, and phenomenal views of the mountains and lake.

Just walking distance from the house is one of the prettiest valleys you will ever see. Tucked in the valley with mountains on either side covered with aspen and blue spruce, Beaver Creek flows through this area for a 12 mile journey all within the Beaver Creek State Wildlife Area. There are lush green meadows on either side of the bank and the hiking is relatively flat for the first mile and a half to two miles before the stream drops off into the canyon area. The views are breath taking. The stream abounds with small to medium rainbows and cutthroats, with a few brookies thrown in. This is a great place for non-winter fishing where these wild trout are very eager to fight over a dry fly. Take your lunch, and your camera or binoculars, since this is also a terrific spot for animal and bird watching.
